My experience as a blogger

Today I would like to tell you about my experience writing publications for my blog.

There have been several publications, in which I have written about many subjects. From my favorite singer, to my first concert as a musician.
I think it was the first time I have to write so much in English.

I can say that I have been very useful to do these blogs, since, I have been able to develop my ability to write in English (obviously), and to be able to be more fluent reading and writing in English.
After so many publications I think one of my favorite publications was the one about Nano Stern (my favorite singer), and in the near future I would like to keep talking about him, or about some of his songs. I think it would be very motivating.
I also think it would be fun to talk about some of my favorite works of classical music. Would be a challenge (for vocabulary and thematic).

Have been several months doing publications and I think this is the most difficult of all because, basically, I have to do a summary of everything.

I hope to rewrite the next semester about many other topics. Until then, see you!

Quiin Violin

Hello, today I would like to present you one of the pages that I visit more and that I find very useful. The name of this page is Quinnviolins.com, and it is a website that sells all kinds of accessories for classical musical instruments like double bass, volin, or cello.
This page lately has served me a lot, since it is where I buy all the accessories I need, such as: Pecastillas (it is a resin that is applied in the bow), cloths to clean my instrument, tuners and metronomes. I can also find and buy methods and books of musical repertoire for double bass.

This page lately has helped me a lot since I found a method of double bass that has helped me a lot in my studies. The most recent purchase I made was a case for my bow. This case besides being a case of very good quality, was double, which means that I could keep my two bows in it.

The page is very easy to use since everything is very detailed in it. On the left side is the list of instruments and their corresponding accessories.

Nano Stern

Hi, I would like to speak to you today about Fernando Stern best known by his artistic name Nano Stern.

He was born in Santiago de Chile, march 30 of 1985, and he is a Chilean singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer of the “third generation of Chilean singer-songwriters who appear after the 1990’s. Nano was introduced to music at young age, starting to play the violin at the age of 3. As a teenager, he played with folk and rock bands.

Stern began studying musical composition at university, but at age 19 he abandoned his studies to go to Europe, settling in Cologne, Germany. After a year in Germany, Stern moved to the Netherlands to study at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and began collaborating in various musical projects. His first solo album, Nano Stern, was released in 2006. After seven years of travelling, Nano Stern settled in Santiago in 2012. In 2013 he edited an album titled La Cosecha (the harvest), a collection of latin american songs which included three songs written by Stern.

Nano Stern’s musical influences include jazz, rock, folk, fusion and the New Chilean Song styles. His work was also influenced by artists such as Inti-Illimani and Los Jaivas, as well as proponents of the Chilean New Song, Víctor Jara and Violeta Parra.

Stern has also said of his creative process: “In some ways it’s a kind of therapy, in other ways it’s a meditation, it’s an exercise as well and in other ways it’s something I do because I don’t have a better way of communicating with the world. It’s the way I express things, and that’s why I do it…. I do it because there’s no other way.”

Nano is a musician of great prestige, who have even come to compare and call him the latin american Cat Stevens.
Is one of my favorite Composers and that's why I wanted to talk a little about him and his carrer.

Have you ever played at a concert?

Three weeks ago it was my first concert as a double bass player, and this photograph was taken by my girlfriend, in the street compañia in front of the university, when we were going to take the bus that would take us to the place of the concert. Concert that took place in the city of paine.

For 5 years I have played double bass, but only 3 weeks ago it was my first concert. Time that is not less, since most of the musicians in my university already have years of experience as orchestra musicians.
I can say that it was a perfect concert and it was a very pleasant experience. The sharing with all my colleagues and being able to play on a stage, which, although it might seem so big from the outside, but it is when you see it as a musician, playing in it.
Of this photograph is not much that I can say, since it is not much it appears in her (except the fact that all my friends appear).

It's what reminds me of that day. My first concert.

Future plans

Hi, in this oportunity I’m going to talk about my future post graduates studies.

I’m student of fifth year of Musical Interpretation with specialization in Double Bass and I will finish my studies in the year 2021, after that  I do not really know what I will do, but I had thought of going to live and studying in Germany and continue my studies in Double Bass.
I had planned to stay for about 4 years studying a carrer there, in germany as an orquestra musician or doing classes to live.
For now I have not seen any university but I have seen on the internet some conservatories of music to wich I want to postúlate.
Besides going to study in Germany I would like to take the opportunity to buy a profesional double bass since here in Chile the quality of these is very bad.
After that I would like to return to Chile and postulate an orchestra of prestige and quiality as the Symphony or Philharmonic Orhestra of Chile.

My favorite piece of technology.

My favorite piece of technology is my gaming laptop. I got it last month during a sale of Pc Factory, which is an internet store dedicated to technology pieces. Since I bought it I have not stopped playing one of my favorites games, Call of Duty. At least 4 times a week.

Besides serving me as a gaming machine, my gaming notebook serves me to do the reports for my university subjects, and to edit and create the scores I have to play.

I really love it because is very light. It is made of a resistant material ( metal I think) and has a HUGE 18” screen, so I can play my favorite games, watch movies in high definition , even watch tv, because  it includes a Tv antenna.

And well, life without my precious gaming notebook would be pretty boring i think.

Expectations For This Year

Well, i 'm really exited about this term because I
was promoted to the second stage of my career
called superior stage. Also I'm starting to study in
the university orchestra. This would be my first time
in a student orchestra so it will be a great challenge.

Also I have a a three new subjetcs. Armony, History
of Music and Chamber Music.
About Armony and Music History I don’t have much
to say because it’s easy to me, but Chamber Music
it’s going to be a hard subject. It would also be my
first time playing with musicians. Before this, I had
only played with an accompanying pianist for my
year-end exams

Besides I'm going to have to go to the university swimming
pool to do the elective course of swimming.

So this it's going to be my term, I hope it ends in the best way.

See you !
